Meet Dwain Barker Founder & Technical Director
With a lifelong passion for soccer and a commitment to developing players, Dwain Barker founded Next O Soccer to provide elite technical training opportunities through a digital soccer training app for athletes throughout Peoria, Illinois, and the surrounding communities. This innovative platform aims to revolutionize how players access training resources and receive online soccer coaching feedback.
Dwain's playing career is highlighted by an exceptional collegiate record at Illinois Central College, where he set the school's all-time scoring record with 52 goals and 25 assists in just two seasons. He went on to compete at the NCAA Division I level at Western Illinois University and proudly represented the Barbados U-23 National Team.
In addition to his playing experience, Dwain has coached at multiple levels of the game, serving as a Director of Coaching, Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach, and technical trainer for youth players and teams. He holds a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration, which complements his practical experience with a strong educational foundation in athlete development. He is also an advocate for utilizing online soccer coaching feedback to enhance player growth.
Through Next O Soccer, Dwain is dedicated to helping players build confidence, improve technical ability, and reach their full potential through purposeful, high-quality training. His philosophy is simple: "Technical training strengthens players, which strengthens teams." Whether working with beginners or advanced athletes, Dwain's mission is to create opportunities for every player to grow, compete, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
